Bollywood films shot in Himachal Pradesh. Himachal boasts of several scenic locations at places like Simla, Manali, Dharamshala, Rohtang, Naggar, and more. Here’s why Bollywood and tourists are fascinated by Himachal Pradesh.
Himachal Pradesh, the northern Indian state located in the Himalayas, has always been a popular tourist destination, thanks to its scenic mountain towns and resorts, and for activities such as trekking, climbing and skiing. Himachal Pradesh also has a strong Tibetan presence (its home to the Dalai Lama).
The film fraternity has always been excited about filming in Himachal, and more often than not, film shoots get diverted to Himachal whenever the situation in Kashmir becomes tense.
Music composer Vishal Dadlani & actress-host Sarah Jane Diaz will embark on an expedition to the less explored regions of Himachal Pradesh as part of the travel show ‘Great Escape’.
“I like unfamiliar situations. I like challenges and I enjoy doing things that I haven’t done before, so I had a lot fun constantly. My only real problem on the entire trip was waking up at 5 A.M for shoots,” Vishal Dadlani.

Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2 also has scenes that were filmed in Manali. Akshay Kumar is highly impressed with the beauty of Manali in Himachal Pradesh, and wonders why Indians opt to vacation abroad and don’t go to places like Manali more often.
Why vacation abroad when we have our very own beautiful Manali! Hear all about it from these lovely ladies. #IndiaTripping pic.twitter.com/6iSmAkXjSm
