Goa Tourism is taking all the efforts to attract tourists to this wonderful destination in India. Some time back, we had mentioned how the state is gearing up to turn the place into a hot destination for luxury weddings in India. Now Goa is keen to attract NRIs across the world, and its ready to tie with Bollywood to help them.
Goa tourism department recently tied up with Bollywood film ‘Finding Fanny’, which was shot extensively in Goa.
In the past, it has been observed that Bollywood films that are shot in Goa do bring in large number of NRIs, who decide to come here after watching those films. NRIs are huge communities outside India and our films definitely make an impact on them. NRIs are big fans of Bollywood films and what they see on films does impact their vacation-related plans.
No wonder that Goa state tourism is considering taking up initiatives to tie up with films that depict the beauty of Goa, which can result in increased footfalls of the NRIs. Goa already has a single window system to make clearances faster and to make film shootings more convenient.
Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Finding Fanny’ was shot in various villages of Goa. During pre-production, the director spent months in Goa studying the Goan people and their lifestyle, to capture it as realistically as possible on film. The film shows glimpses of different parts of Goa; these are places which tourists to Goa may not have seen before.
