Jolly LLB 2 is expected to collect at least Rs 200-cr mark at the box office, and the man laughing all the way to the bank is none other than the ‘Khiladi’ Akshay Kumar who apparently has 80% profit sharing in the film’s collection.
And guess what?
Akshay completed the movie in just 33 days flat (usually he takes around 40-45 days to complete a movie, unlike other top stars who take a year or more to complete a movie).
And as per a report published in a leading entertainment portal, Akshay Kumar already stands to gain Rs 40-45 crores as profit from the success of Jolly LLB 2.

For those who have not watched Jolly LLB 2 (or even the earlier version, that featured Arshad Warsi), you need to watch this series — not only is the content good, it also gives you a closer look at thow the legal system works in India (it shows why the common man is so averse to going to the police and taking the legal route).

Jolly LLB 2 Movie Review
Akshay Kumar starrer Jolly LLB 2 is a fast-paced satirical humour. The courtoom drama has almost zero competition at the box office, and going by the initial reaction, JOLLY LLB 2 looks all set to make decent money at the box office.

Subhash Kapoor’s screenplay is intelligent. The best part of his screenplay is that it doesn’t let go of the humour till the very end. The light scenes in the courtroom are so funny that they make the courtroom drama entertaining and enjoyable. On the whole, Jolly LL.B 2 is an enjoyable entertainer which will definitely do well at the box-office and will keep the audience and the investors happy.
This man is on a roll! Thoroughly enjoyed this jolly. Congrats to the team that pulled this off in 33 days! Fantastic! https://t.co/LyQyDA4M2k

Jolly LLB 2 is the kind of film Hindi cinema used to make at a time when its primary activity was to tell a rousing tale, using star power to embellish it. This sequel of Jolly LLB, infinitely superior to the first, brings back the joys of watching a movie with a solid plot, a strong sense of time and place and rhythm, and a confidence in itself that has been missing from Bollywood. Yes, there a few dips, and some slips, but on the whole, this Akshay Kumar-starrer is a win.Jolly LLB 2 is a cracking watch, despite its few squelchy parts. Aur yeh lock kiya jaaye, mi’lord.

Jolly LLB also, tangentially, brings into its purview the vexed theme of young Muslim men falsely implicated in cases of terrorism and not given a chance in hell by a police and a media all too eager to brand and hang them. If all this sounds too solemn for a mass entertainer, do not be put off. Jolly LLB 2 does well not to take itself too seriously. It has the feel of a good-natured banter between friends rather than that of an inflated inquest conducted from a pedestal. Scintillating? No. Enjoyable? Absolutely.

On the face of it, apna Jolly is a novice indulging in petty crimes because he knows the loopholes in the law. But these are just asides and not the main premise of courtroom drama, which in many ways follows the template of the 2013 prequel, Jolly LLB.Akshay changes shades from crooked to straight, like a chameleon. In top-form, he puts up a perfect display of a street-smart lawyer who hasn’t read legal tomes but who has instead picked up tips from courtroom corridors to become Jolly LLB. Huma and Annu are also compelling enough. It is the fine display of histrionics by all these refined actors, which makes the movie, worth seeing.

But what works perfectly is the focus on real issues like corruption, terrorism and under-pressure judges. Kapoor has tackled all these issues with a great control. He has induced small, funny moments at crucial junctures that work as perfect breathers. Thanks to his understanding of court procedures, his characters look human and vulnerable unlike typical Bollywood films where the protagonist plays the victim and the judge.

Akshay Kumar’s satirical courtroom drama, Jolly LLB2, has its heart in the right place but it is as long-winded as the trials in Indian courts. It’s the pacing that’s a let down and there are moments when the thrilling bits of the case feels overly stretched. Perhaps, shaving off those bits would have helped.Watch this if you are in the mood for a legal drama, albeit a long, arduous one.
