Comedian Kapil Sharma, who made a comeback on television with ‘Family Time With Kapil Sharma’ failed to impress the audience with the debut episode. Kapil Sharma returned with his team comprising Navjot Singh Sindhu, Chandan Prabhakar and Kiku Sharda and had Ajay Devgn as his first guest on the new show.

Kapil Sharma is a big star on television, a popular comedian, a much sought after host. He has acted in several Punjabi movies. He has already made his Bollywood debut as an actor, and now Kapil Sharma is turning producer.

Kapil produced the movie ‘Firangi’, which unfortunately bombed at the box office.

Kapil Sharma first came to the limelight with his funny acts on the very popular shows Great Indian Laughter Challenge & Comedy Circus. Soon he went on to become the most popular comedian on Comedy Circus, and when he realized that he was becoming bigger than the show, he decided to launch his own show ‘comedy Nights with Kapil’. The comedian broke all the records on the small screen, his show ‘Comedy Night with Kapil’ was a hit not only in India but all over the world.

His rise has been more or less meteoric, and in just a few years Kapil Sharma is among the most powerful people in Bollywood. Not bard for a person who came to Mumbai with nothing (btw, he came to Mumbai to become a singer). Kapil has acted in films, and is also getting into film production.

But he was just a simple man (aam aadmi) before being discovered by the industry. Kapil was not born with a silver spoon. He had to go through his share of struggles before finding his place in the sun.

Kapil started from a small theater but is the most expensive host in today. Back in those days, he faced a lot of difficulties in theater. But his hard work, dedication and perseverance paid off.

  • Kapil completed his schooling in Amritsar. Kapil’s mom lovingly calls hom Tony. His father was a police constable.
  • After college, the famous stand-up comedian joined Punjab Naatshala where he performed and also taught acting. He would also conduct acting workshops in auditoriums in Amritsar.
  • After performing in Amritsar, Kapil Sharma tried his luck in Mumbai. He participated in the TV show ‘The great Indian laughter challenge’. Kapil was rejected twice, but he turned out lucky the third time. Kapil went on to win the show in 2007, and from there on there was no looking back for Kapil. Today Kapil is India’s most successful comedian.
  • Kapil’s debut Bollywood film was ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon.’

        • As per reports, Kapil Sharma takes home a cool Rs.60-80 lakh per episode for his comedy series.By that calculation, Kapil Sharma makes more money in a month (compared to what some Bollywood Actors charge per movie)
        • Kapil Sharma’s net worth is estimated to be around 8-10 million dollars (50-60 crore rupees).

    Kapil earns his money from his comedy show, working as anchors and host on various shows/award events, and through endorsements.

    What is his prized possession?
    Kapil sharma today owns several properties in Mumbai as well as in Amritsar. However, his prized possession is his SUV ‘Range Rover Evoque’. After all, its the most expensive car tat he has ever owned. The SUV is estimated to cost between 70 to 90 lakh rupees.

    Well, not bad for the lad from Amritsar who landed in Mumbai with almost nothing.

    Kapil Sharma asked for Rs. 5 lakh bribe to set up office, protests on social media

    Funny man Kapil Sharma lost his cool recently when he was asked for Rs. 5 lakh bribe to set up his own office. Kapil tweeted about it and even asked Narendra Modi if this is “Achhe Din”.

    The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has asked Sharma to file a formal complaint and also urged him to name the officer who demanded bribe from him, after Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis asked Kapil to provide all the information.
